IT Solution for Electronic Brake Systems Development Process Management has been developed for one of the world's leading manufacturers of electronic and hydraulic brake systems.
An enterprise multi user web application for the management of the complicated brake systems development process has been implemented. The system allows engineers of the Customer to organize a work with a considerable number of objects such as vehicles, axles, brakes components, test specifications, testing results into projects.
WaveAccess was provided with a concept document and static html design. In cooperation with RD-Software WaveAccess designed a database and using Middlegen tool generated a persistence layer from CMP beans. WaveAccess making use of its substantial experience in web applications crafted a rich user interface where most important control elements were developed in DHTML and HTC that allowed to achieve a good response time.
Special efforts were applied to tune performance. Thorough analysis and optimization was performed for every application layer. Direct data access to Oracle database in some application areas from java layer alongside with expert tuning of database queries brought remarkable performance burst. Caching strategies leveraged the optimization results.
One of the challenges set by the Customer for WaveAccess was a development of a flexible reporting system that working on any platform and operating on Entity Enterprise Beans data layer should produce complex reports in RTF format. Creation of each new report should be performed either with a little programming or without programming at all. WaveAccess completed this task successfully.
WaveAccess has a well thought time proved development process which includes documented requirements management, consistent bug tracking, permanent night builds and automatic testing. This process allowed WaveAccess project managers to meet all customer requirements and produce the required system on time. The good quality of the delivered system was explicitly noticed by the customer.
